My Fontana di Trevi

If you throw a coin in the Trevi Fountain, you are bound to return to Rome. The name of fountain comes from the meaning: a junction of three.

Well, none of us threw coins in a fountain, but I was bound to see them again. Jenny, Sammy, and Lorrie are three dear friends to me whom I saw in one fell swoop in London one weekend. Maybe London is the fountain that we were bound to come back to.

My dear Jen. An accomplice in London misadventures. We watched the Liverpool vs. West Ham game in a pub. My very first ;testosterone-and-beer-infused-watch-a-game-at-a-pub' experience.

Jen's fabulous friends: Heidi & Fen. We went to a church crypt made into a bar.

Ah, and Sammy... We kept in touch all these years since we first met in India in 2002. Our plans to meet somewhere in between (California, Botswana, etc...) haven't worked out, but we finally met up in London. We still have the optimist glimmer in our eyes, but perhaps we have grown a little older and somewhat more career-oriented. We're now both working for da Man (big MNC's).

Lorrie-doo! She greeted me at King's Cross Station with, "you haven't changed!" Well, she hasn't changed much either since our silly college Dawson's Creek years. But she is on her seriously scholarly way into library sciences (and soon, off to Austin, TX). In fact, she was visiting Cambridge (her adopted alma mater) to attend her friends' graduations. From her Ireland adventures to stories of meeting the Queen, we never run out on the stock of interesting tales.

I cannot wait for the next time our paths cross.
