i met a blind man who taught me how to see

I finished reading Choke today. Chuck Palahniuk (author of Fight Club) has made me disoriented and shifting uncomfortably in my seat. Or as my brother put it, he feared for his virginity while reading it on the plane. The ride was fun while it lasted, but the last page leaves you with a strange taste that you cannot put your finger on.

A fly is buzzing chaotically in the computer room. It's been stuck in the room the whole day, unable to find a vent or an open window. The idiotic frustration it exutes fuses with mine.

Martin asked me if I was happy today. The question struck me bluntly in the gut that it left me breathless for 2.3 seconds. "Of course I'm happy... nobody has asked me that in a while." I get a dose of the European touch.

I almost broke our rice cooker today. It started fusing inside and making explosive noises.

Comments:
babe, I know exactly what you're talking about. Had the same feeling when I finished Choke.

Wow

i like that book. read survivor or invisible monster if you haven't already. invisible monsters is more graphic than disgusting and survivor is less "what the fuck" than choke is (well that might not be true), if that makes sense...

I will have to read all of them. My brother keeps track of all Palahniuk novels.

Jumping between Paul Krugman and Anthony Keidis' autobiography. Should throw in another Palahniuk for variety in the parallel reading scheme.
